Koreans are showing their artistic side, sculpting these amazing figures with just sand.
Summer is a time for spending time in the sun and going to the beach. However, these Koreans take summer fun to a whole new level. While many think of going to the beach and only building small sand castles that may or may not even look like sand castles, others are creating masterpieces out of a fun activity.
At the annual Haeundae Sand Festival, people gather around just another ordinary beach, but what’s on it is just stunning. People gather around for a period of a few days to enjoy activities and admire the sand sculptures that were carefully crafted on the beach.
The beauty of the sculpture baffles many and some people refuse to believe it is sand until they walk up to it.
To add some color to the dull yellow sand, many artists will dye the sand to create a more appealing masterpiece, while others use special lighting at night to give it more appeal.
