Netizens Categorize The Visual Line Of K-Pop Groups Into Each Of The Three Kingdoms

Learn a little more about the Three Kingdoms here too!

Every heard of the Three Kingdoms of Silla, Baekje and Goguryeo? The Three Kingdoms existed between 57 BC to 668 AD, where the Korean Peninsula was divided amongst the three ancient kingdoms of Silla, Baekje and Goguryeo. Although they were all part of Korea, each kingdom developed its own cultures and identity, and of course, sometimes got into war with each other.

To break it down a little using dramas, here are some examples.

Goguryeo’s image was strong and charismatic. It mostly made use of muted colors and had a strong utilitarian theme, unless you were royal of course. Some prime drama examples include Jumong and the newly premiered River Where The Moon Rises starring Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo. Note that Goguryeo is vastly different from Goryeo, a dynasty that formed later on.

Goguryeo also occupied parts of Manchuria, China. You may see several overlaps in elements of clothing in Manchurian historical dramas as well.

Moving on, Silla. Period dramas that feature Silla include Hwarang and The Queen Seonduk. Silla outfits are meant to be on the flashy side, making use of shimmery fabrics and bright colors.

Lastly, Baekje. Baekje clothing was said to be the most neat, simple and innocent looking out of the three. Here’s T-ARA‘s Hyomin in Gyebaek.

With those three in mind, how have Korean netizens categorized the visual line of K-Pop idol groups into each of the Three Kingdoms?

TXT’s Soobin is perfect for this, with his bunnylike features.

His princely features make it a no-brainer that THE BOYZ’s Younghoon already starred in some dramas.

Nine Muses’ Hyunah is one of the OG visuals in K-Pop.
