TXT Practiced With Sandbags On Their Legs As Trainees — How It Helped Them Improve

It couldn’t have been easy.

Fans know the members of TXT have talent, but the road to becoming K-Pop idols wasn’t easy. They revealed one of the ways they improved their dancing skills, and it’s as hard as it sounds.

TXT recently spoke with GQ Japan about the ten things they can’t live without. Most of the items are obvious. As singers, the group can’t live without microphones.

They even prefer hand mics to headsets.

For some reason when I go on stage holding this, I’m more confident.

But that’s not the only thing that they’re passionate about. When asked about an item he personally can’t live without, Taehyun mentioned dumbbells.

Though the other members teased him about showing the lightest weight dumbbells, Taehyun argued that they’re useful for activities like shadow boxing. He added, “Once you put them down, you feel faster.”

It reminded him of a time when the group would wear sandbags during practice.

Beomgyu further explained that when they were trainees, they would attach sandbags to their legs during dance practice.

Once they removed the sandbags, much like the dumbbell example, they moved faster. Since the extra weight caused them to use more muscle, they could move even easier when removed. Taehyun explained that it “felt like you’re on the moon.”
