TXT Reveals What They Really Thought Of Their Iconic “Blue Hour” Dance Break At The 2020 Melon Music Awards

Bang Si Hyuk also revealed his thoughts!

Since debuting in 2019, TXT has taken the K-Pop world by storm and earned the title of “4th Generation ‘It Boys.'” Even with all their talent, it seems like they don’t always like all of their stages and performances.

The group recently appeared on an episode of MMTG with host JaeJae talking about their interactions with BTS, covering some classic tracks, and revealing some TMI about their iconic performances.

In particular, JaeJae mentioned their performance of “Blue Hour” at the Melon Music Awards. Specifically, they spoke about the dance break during the performance, and even as they watched it, the members seemed to be in shock at what they were about to watch!

JaeJae joked that the song was being called the new “forbidden song for CSAT” because it is really addictive, and someone in the comments said it was like something they performed in gym class.

Yet, before they could share their own thoughts on the song, JaeJae explained that she’d spoken to former HYBE CEO Bang Si Hyuk.

Bang Si Hyuk wrote the song and made the dance break, and he discussed what he thought about the performance. It seems as if, despite creating it all, he wasn’t too sure about the performance.

It was a dance break I made. The performance was belittled, right? I worried a lot because I was scared TXT didn’t like it. But I couldn’t ask them because I didn’t have the confidence.

— Bang Si Hyuk

It seems as if Bang Si Hyuk wasn’t the only person with reservations about the performance. Taehyun revealed that, although staff liked it, they weren’t too sure about it after they had performed it.

I can say this now, but when we were doing the final practice, the staff said it was so good. On the day of the shoot, we thought we had the coolest performances. But, after the performance… I think it depends on how you set the standard.

The other members couldn’t agree more, and Soobin rightly explained that it sparked a lot of conversations. Hueningkai even thought it was a way of relaxing the K-Pop industry, which can be seen as very tense.

Although the members might not have fallen in love with it after watching it back, many MOAs definitely loved the performance that some even thought felt like a workout routine!
