On the last day of Stray Kids‘ District 9: Unlock dates in Seoul, Hyunjin broke down in tears and had all his members around to support him.
Through the tears, he revealed they’d overcome many hurdles that took a toll on them.
He began his speech by saying how hard he’d worked to debut and how much effort he still put in afterward to become a better artist.
I worked really hard and debuted. I worked [really, really] hard.
Along the way, Hyunjin mentioned there had been so many obstacles that he hadn’t foreseen. He thought they would work on themselves while being happy with STAYs, but it didn’t work out that way.
But, there were so many more barriers than expected. I thought we could just joyfully go on together with you and improve. But, barriers [kept popping up].
As a result, he explained that it had been tough on him. Since they’re a group, he hadn’t been the only one feeling that way. It had been a struggle for every single one of them.
So, it was so hard. But, I wasn’t the only one who had a hard time. It was hard for all of us.
The support of STAYs is what keeps them going. He told them not to stray from them and continue to stick by their sides, “Everyone, please don’t go anywhere.”
Hyunjin then finished by saying that they’ll work to be a group that fans won’t be ashamed of.
We’ll really work harder and become Stray Kids who won’t make you feel ashamed. Thank you.
Stray Kids have experienced more than anyone will ever know, both individually and as a group. STAYs will continue to do their best to support them and let them know they’re loved. Prepare your heart before watching Hyunjin’s emotional speech here.
