Stray Kids’ Bang Chan Is Close With (G)I-DLE’s Minnie But Was Unable To Do The “TOMBOY” Challenge — Here’s Why It Didn’t Happen

He’s still always so supportive!

In a recent live stream, Stray Kids‘s Bang Chan jammed to several of K-Pop’s recent big hits, showing support for the artists and warm appreciation for their music. One unexpected tidbit he revealed is that he’s close with (G)I-DLE‘s Minnie, but was unfortunately unable to do the “TOMBOY” challenge when she asked him to.

Bang Chan had a great time listening to the song, even proving that he knows the basic choreography and the lyrics.

But fans were particularly excited to find out that he’s close friends with Minnie herself. So much so, that she’d asked him to do the “TOMBOY” challenge with her.

After listening to the song, fans left comments asking Bang Chan if he could do the challenge. He explained that, even though he wanted to do it when Minnie herself asked him to, it had not been possible at the time. In the past, netizens have called out JYP Entertainment for allegedly not allowing Stray Kids to do GOT7 BamBam‘s dance challenge, but it seems like in this case it was most likely due to scheduling issues.

Yeah, I mean, I’m actually really close to Minnie. She asked me and I was like, “Oh, I’ll see if I can.” But then, I guess things just didn’t work out so I couldn’t do it. But, yeah. I mean, I always show support, and then they always show support to us too, so yeah.

While it’s disappointing that we won’t be able to see Bang Chan participate in the “TOMBOY” challenge, fans will at least always be able to see him wholesomely supporting (G)I-DLE and many other deserving artists! In fact, though he can’t make any promises, Bang Chan said that he’ll try to learn the “TOMBOY” choreography from Minnie one day.

I mean, if I ever get the chance I’ll learn it from her. I’ll learn it properly.
