Dreamcatcher, a seven-member K-Pop girl group with a “nightmare” concept, held a live showcase commemorating the release of their first Japanese album The Beginning Of The End. “The Beginning Of The End Showcase” was held on September 12 at Tokyo Mynavi BLITZ Akasaka.
The group made its debut in Japan last November and quickly established themselves with their unique “nightmare” concept and intense rock sound that is rare for Korean girl groups, with each member in charge of a certain nightmare such as “dream of being chased by someone” or “dream of being wounded”. The Beginning Of The End leads to the end of the nightmare story.
Their live performance was held in front of 600 fans, who gathered at the venue with high expectations and enthusiasm. The show started dramatically, with an introductory video about the members before they appeared on stage. When the members appeared, the cheering from the stands became even louder!
The audience sang along as they performed “YOU AND I -Japanese ver.-“. It was the perfect choice for their opening number with its violent rock feel it is reminiscent of nightmares, and fans were unable to hide their excitement.
Their Japanese original track “Breaking Out”, which is a song that expresses the intention of escaping the nightmare, was performed for the first time and the venue was overwhelmed with the excited atmosphere.
The event was broadcast live on LINE LIVE and recorded over 210,000 viewers.
When asked about goals they set for Japan in the future, SuA said, “Oricon number one”, Siyeon said, “Anime theme song”, and leader JiU said, “I want to try writing lyrics in Japanese.” Japanese fans were excited about what they could expect for the future.
