BTS‘s “Dynamite” made history by becoming the first K-Pop song to chart at No.1 on the Billboard “Hot 100” chart. Not only that, but the song stayed No.1 for multiple weeks.
However, it seems that even the BTS members were a little surprised by how well “Dynamite” did. When BTS guested on MBC Radio’s Bae Cheol Soo’s Music Camp, Suga revealed that they did expect the song to chart No.1 on the “Hot 100” chart, but they didn’t expect it to stay there for multiple weeks.
When “Dynamite” originally charted at No.1, the members didn’t think it was highly likely that they would stay at No.1 for another week.
However, when “Dynamite” stayed at No.1. for the second straight week, they got a call from Bang Si Hyuk, the head of their agency (Big Hit Entertainment). The members shared that Bang Si Hyuk was nearly in tears when he called them.
During the phone call, Bang Si Hyuk excitedly congratulated the members on the accomplishment.
