Deported Korean-American Singer Yoo Seung Joon Releases First MV In 12 Years

He personally wrote all the songs.

Yoo Seung Joon was a popular singer back in the 90’s before he was deported for going back on his promise to enlist in the military. Instead, he decided to gain citizenship in America, which exempted him from mandatory service.

Ever since, he’s been fighting a long battle to be allowed back into Korea. But the government and netizens continually showed that they are not ready to take him back.

12 years since his last music video, Yoo Seung Joon made a comeback with a brand new album and two music videos. His title is called, ‘ANOTHER DAY’.

Yoo Seung Joon personally took part in the album, writing every one of its lyrics. His agency, YSJ MEDIA GROUP, said his album will contain music genres that is different than his feel back in the 90’s.

In ‘ANOTHER DAY’, his lyrics talk about wanting to be loved again during a lonely and difficult time.

“Even if I’m lonely and it’s tough
Even through all these obstacles
I gotta be strong even though I’m scared

I want to be loved again, wanna love again
If someone tells me it’s going to be okay
Be loved again, wanna love again
I really want to turn back around before it’s too late”

— ‘ANOTHER DAY’ Lyrics

Yoo Seung Joon also released a song titled ‘PEOPLE DON’T KNOW’.

In its lyrics, he talks about how far he’s had to come on his own and where he stands now.

“That is enough, they got the best of me
That is enough, that is enough

That is enough, life got the best of me
That is enough, that is enough

It’s been a long time, I don’t know what to do
It took a long time for me to come to you”

— ‘PEOPLE DON’T KNOW’ Lyrics
