TWICE Fans Cause Korean Album Sale Website To Crash

Popular music shop Synnara Record is currently on the focus of Korean media and fans because of its server crash.

On February 13th, Synnara Record’s website crashed after its servers were unable to handle the traffic from fans attempting to place orders for albums. At the time of the crash, JYP Entertainment girl group TWICE was was #1 on the most searched/trending list on their website.

Minutes before the crash, the group announced the pre-orders for their upcoming special album TWICEcoaster : LANE 2. Although girl groups are known to not be as strong in physical sales compared to their male counterpart, TWICE has proven to be the exception lately, becoming the first group since Girls’ Generation to sell more than 500,000 physical albums in a single year.

TWICE recently released the first teasers for their upcoming album, with title song “Knock Knock” serving as a continuation from TWICEcoaster: Lane 1 and its hit title track “TT.” TWICEcoaster: Lane 2 is set to be released on February 20th.
