Although most trips are out of the question at the moment, thanks to South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), K-Pop fans will be able to take a musical trip to Korea through an upcoming 3-day online live concert event!
Hosted and organized by MCST and KOCCA, the upcoming K-Pop festival called, “Trip to K-Pop“, is set to go live from CKL Stage in Seoul on May 19 to May 21 with an impressive lineup of artists including iKON, Oh My Girl, Natty, and more.
With the motto, “We Shall Overcome,” the concert series aims to deliver messages of support through the current challenges due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Kim Young Joon, the president of KOCCA, revealed that they not only hoped to bring a message of hope and support during these times but to also allow everyone to enjoy culture and music while practicing social distancing.
Through K-Pop, we hope to deliver messages and support to those who are burdened by COVID-19. As the problem of COVID-19 has emphasized keeping a distance from others in their daily lives, I hope that this performance will be a good opportunity for people to enjoy culture while practicing social distancing.
— Kim Young Joon, President of KOCCA
To spread their message of hope and support, 12 outstanding artists will be taking part in the event, which will be hosted by B1A4‘s Sandeul. The powerful lineup will kick off on May 19 with performances by iKON, Soran, Natty, and BIBI.
The second day will boast performances by April, Kim Jae Hwan, Isaac Hong, and Daybreak.
And to wrap up the event on May 21, Oh My Girl, KARD, Samuel Seo, Martin Smith, and Balming Tiger will be sharing their talents.
Trip to K-Pop will be broadcast live at 7 PM KST on SBS MTV, SBS FiL on SBS MediaNet, VLive, and U+ Idol Live app, as well as the YouTube channels of Korea Creative Content Agency and THE K-POP.
