Moon Chae Won and her agency Namoo Actors will take legal action against an internet user who claimed he was her boyfriend.
A post recently surfaced on an online portal site where a user claimed to be the boyfriend of Moon Chae Won since 2015. This man said in his post,
“I have been Moon Chae Won’s boyfriend since 2015. If you can prove this is false, I’ll break my own fingers with a military grade shovel.”

Moon Chae Won’s agency Namoo Actors responded to these claims, stating that they will begin taking legal action against the poster.
“We will be taking action, even legal action, against this user as there are increasingly more comments that are excessive in nature and bring displeasure to the celebrity.”

Malicious comments that contain false facts is punishable by up to 7 years in prison, suspended up to 10 years or a fine of up to ₩50 million Won ($44,174 USD). He could also be punished for general defamation, which brings less severe penalty of a maximum of 2 years in prison, or published defamation, which carries a maximum sentence of 3 years in prison.
