Mnet confirms “Show Me The Money 5” and “Unpretty Rapstar 3” for 2016

The hip-hop craze continues as Mnet recently confirmed that they will continue with the next seasons of Show Me The Money and Unpretty Rapstar in 2016.

According to reports, Mnet is already scheduling Show Me The Money 5 to air this May, which will set the momentum for the third season of Unpretty Rapstar set to air in the second half of the year.

Show Me The Money is an open audition for rappers who are later split into groups according to producers who go head-to-head with their own team until one contestant remains. The show began in 2012 and completed its fourth season in 2015, winners including Loco (Season 1), Soul Dive (Season 2), iKON‘s Bobby (Season 3), and Basick (Season 4). Other notable rappers who found rising popularity include Black Nut, WINNER‘s Song Mino, IRON, and more.

On the other hand, Unpretty Rapstar kickstarted its first season in early 2015 and was announced as the female spin-off of Show Me The Money. Inviting just female rappers, two seasons was produced in 2015 with winners Cheetah (Season 1) and Truedy (Season 2).
