Kim Jaehwan and Im Hanbyul Team Up For “The King”‘s Latest OST

Their duet will air on the show’s May 30 episode.

Former Wanna One member Kim Jaehwan and former Monday Kiz member Im Hanbyul have come together to record an OST for the SBS drama The King: Eternal Monarch.

Their duet, titled “You Are My Beginning And End,” will be 13th part of the show’s original soundtrack.

Hanbyul himself wrote the song, and the ballad’s lyrics feature the struggle of the show’s lead character, Emperor Lee Gon, played by actor Lee Minho, as he lives between the two worlds. MonoTree music director Choo Dae Kwan (also known as DK Choo), who has composed and produced for artists such as EXO, Red Velvet, and Taemin, also joined the song’s production team.

Kim Jaehwan sang his part with a sweet voice, and Im Hanbyul’s voice was then added. Their quiet yet beautiful singing was in harmony.

Hanbyul has numerous OSTs under his belt, including songs for the dramas When the Camellia Blooms and The Secret Life of My Secretary. Jaehwan has also recorded OSTs for dramas including Crash Landing on You.

The voices of these two singers in their duet will bring more emotion to the show as it reaches its climax.
