JYP Entertainment Announces Global “Nizi Project 2” For Their New Boy Group

They’re returning with season 2.

JYP Entertainment and J.Y. Park have announced their upcoming boy group project Nizi Project 2.

During a press conference held on June 12 KST, JYP Entertainment’s J.Y. Park and Sony Music Japan CEO Muramatsu Shunsuke revealed that they would once again be joining hands, this time for the production of a global boy group.

Nizi Project 2 will hold auditions in 11 cities spread throughout Japan, Korea, and the United States. In Japan, auditions will be held in Sapporo, Sendai, Nagoya, Kobe, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Okinawa, and Tokyo. There will also be auditions in Seoul, Los Angeles, and New York City. J.Y. Park will personally visit each city to be present for the auditions, just like Nizi Project 1.

Applications for prospective hopefuls will begin on July 13 KST, and auditions will be held throughout November and December. The final members of the group will be announced in December 2022, with the boy group debuting in February 2023. Males between the ages of 14-22 years old can apply to join the show. As long as applicants can speak Japanese and do not already belong to an agency, their nationality does not matter.

J.Y. Park shared how he was worried about season 1, but was so surprised by the result.

I remember when I first announced Nizi Project two years ago, and I was worried at the time. I am so happy to be able to announce a second season. I was surprised by the support we received, and I still can’t believe it. I haven’t been able to go to Japan since the broadcast of Nizi Project, so I can’t fully believe it. I heard they became very famous in Japan, and I’m curious to see for myself.
