The East Light members — Seokcheol, Eunsung, Seunghyun, Junwook, Sagang, and Woojin — were born from 2000 to 2003 and thus are still minors under Korean law. Since before their debut in 2015, the boys were reportedly subjected to continuous assault and verbal abuse.

Producer A was said to have physically assaulted them with items like a baseball bat and metal microphone and was also accused of verbally abusing the members as well.

One member had guitar strings tied around their neck, and whenever they made mistakes while playing, the strings would be tightened. They were also threatened to be killed during the verbal abuse as well.

After years of physical abuse, some of the members had head injuries so severe that they bled and also bloomed bruises on their buttocks too.

CEO Kim Chang Hwan was aware of the physical abuse and is guilty of being a bystander and neglect. Furthermore, the CEO was in the habit of swearing at and threatening the young boys as well.

It was reported that during even after witnessing Producer A confining and assaulting the members, Kim Chang Hwan told Producer A to simply “go easily” — thus condoning and abetting the violence.

The East Light members have reportedly received treatment for the physical and psychological pain they have experienced. Some of the members are reached out to an attorney and are preparing to take legal action.
