Turning Red follows 13-year-old Mei Lee. Mei Lee is torn between being obedient to her mother and embracing the chaos that comes with being young. If Mei Lee gets too excited, she turns into a big red panda.
In Turning Red, 4*Town is the biggest boyband in the world. There are 5 members of 4*Town and ARMYs have noticed many similarities between BTS‘s Jimin and 4*Town’s youngest member, Tae Young.
Domee Shi, the director of Turning Red, revealed her inspirations for the 4*Town members in an interview with Billboard Japan.
Domee Shi turned to BIGBANG and 2PM, the K-Pop boybands she was a fan of when she was younger, for inspiration while creating 4*Town.
