GOT Mark‘s father, Raymond Tuan, tweeted a cryptic message about Mark’s future with JYP and the group.
Mark 的合約也剩下兩年了，是會續約還是獨立？要開始準備了⋯⋯ pic.twitter.com/hWcFJvK6H8

He tweeted a series of photos of Mark, with a message questioning whether he will stay with JYP Entertainment after his contract expires in 2 years.
“When you become a sophomore in high school, you start to choose which University to study at… Mark has 2 years left on his contract. Will he renew or choose to go off on his own? It’s time to start preparing…”
— Raymond Tuan
Fans were visibly upset that Mark’s father would question the future of Mark continuing as GOT7 and JYP Entertainment. They asked him to be more cautious about his Tweets regarding Mark.
Posts like this is how you get bad articles written about your son and his group, articles that will question his loyalty or if he genuinely likes Got7, do you know how damaging an article like that could be, ESPECIALLY this close to a comeback?? Pls try to think before you post

Not to disrespect papa tuan But this isn’t a platform to say all these specially when he comeback is near.

So Unnecessary … Now is not the time to say this,Mark isn’t going anywhere anytime soon,There’s a reason why they are called Got7. instead we should put this energy on the upcoming cb pic.twitter.com/Rdsu1pat5R

dear papa, we must say contract is kind of private and sensitive issue . it may be better to talk privately with mark instead of saying publicly 🙂 we are afraid some people will make a fuss out of it and mark will be hurt… @lilbear1228

No disrespect to you, but GOT7’s comeback is coming real soon, your words might ruined the whole vibe. He is still under JYPE, whatever happens, like you said, the decision is up to Mark, but it shouldn’t be discussed publicly…with the fans nor at this time.

Others began defending Papa Tuan, claiming it was his right as a parent to worry for his children’s future.
Maybe, but it isn’t right to judge him for what he does with his account either, or for worrying about Mark’s future.

Jackson is doing his solo projects without leaving GOT7 (with China solo stans putting pressure on him to go solo)
Why can’t Mark do the same thing?
I don’t see the problem
Honestly no one needed this in the middle of hype over new comeback
We were happy and this killed the mood pic.twitter.com/Hy6VQd4tgh

No matter what happens, I will support Mark and will be beside him all the way Papa.❤

Neither Papa Tuan, Mark, or JYP Entertainment has responded about the original tweet.
