Kwon Mina held a lengthy Instagram live broadcast and during part of it, she opened up about her difficult past that started in elementary school and lasted throughout her school days.

Since my elementary school days, things have been difficult for my family. So as soon as I became a middle school student, I had to work to make money. I spent more days working part-time jobs than attending school. In the end, I had to drop out of school and take the GED. I was considered a high school graduate, but I was immersed in my trainee life at the time.

She then shared a story about how she was physically assaulted after getting lured to an isolated location.

One time, a friend told me she was going somewhere. And I got worried that I tried to stop her from going, but I ended up accompanying her instead.

When I got to the empty house, another boy — some sunbae a year or two older than I am — smacked me in the head with a beer bottle and then started kicking me. I stood there getting beaten, while several other male students also remained in the same room.

I still remember his name and face.

Finally, she confessed that she was sexually assaulted by the boy — who is actually now a famous celebrity.

If I told you his name, you would know because he’s a celebrity now. I was so angry after the sexual assault. I wasn’t able to walk well after the assault, so I had to crawl my way home.

I still had to work part-time after all that. Eventually, I moved to Seoul from Busan, as if I was running away. Now that I think about it, I wonder how I endured it all.

Kwon Mina said she got an apology immediately after what happened, and that she never reported the incident.

Eventually he let my friend and me go… but I got upset over why it had to happen to me. So I insisted that he apologizes to me before I leave. He then admitted that what he did was wrong and said sorry. And I’m pretty simple when it comes to apologies. Once he admitted his fault and apologized, I didn’t think to hold it against him anymore.

And I didn’t report the incident because I didn’t want to get into bigger trouble, with my parents finding out about what happened. I didn’t want my mom to know, so I covered up all of my bruises with my clothes.
