Fans Of BTS And Megan Thee Stallion Unite To Raise Over $100,000 For Charity

They reached their goal in just over a day!

In honor of BTS and Megan Thee Stallion‘s collaboration for a remix of “Butter,” ARMY and Hotties have united to raise money for BIPOC-focused charities.

User @AJBaepsae on Twitter began brainstorming on August 24 about raising money to donate to a charity in Megan’s name. Megan had to legally dispute her label in order to get the song cleared for release. Furthermore, the artist has had to pay around $110,000 due to the restraining order against her label as well as a fee required by her label in order to release the remix.

They received numerous suggestions from fans regarding important causes that would benefit from their donations, as well as organizations that align with BTS’s and Megan’s beliefs of equality and justice.

In honor of the hottest collab of the summer, join the BTS ARMY and Thee Hotties in donating to Black Women for Wellness, Women for Afghan Women and The Houston Food Bank in support of Megan Thee Stallion.

Your donation supports voices, passions, talents, vision, and safety of women and children as we continue to advocate for freedom and justice together.

These causes were chosen based on opinions from part of the ARMY community.

Both fandoms and artists are passionate about mutual aid and donating. Last year, BTS donated $1 million dollars to Black Lives Matter, and ARMY matched their donation quickly. Megan Thee Stallion is known for her consistent philanthropy. This year alone, for example, she donated $50,000 following the violent attack at an Atlanta spa and $100,000 to the Breonna Taylor Foundation.

Just a few hours later, the fundraising had officially begun under the name #TheeARMYFund. Their goal was to raise $100,000 before the release of the “Butter” remix on August 27 at 12 AM Eastern time. However, they were able to reach that goal with hours to spare!

One of the charities, Women for Afghan Women (WAW) sent a message of thanks directly to the organizers and also posted on their Twitter to thank everyone for participating.

Megan also took her time to thank everybody for their generosity.

#TheeARMYFund currently has raised over $113,000 and will remain open “as long as possible,” according to the organizer.
