BTS Prove Themselves To Be True Anime Fans During “Run BTS!”

What anime do you think is the members’ favorite?

We all know that BTS are big fans of anime like the rest of us. The members are outspoken about their love for anime. They even talk about it in interviews!

Well, their love for anime doesn’t end there. In episode 151 of Run BTS!, the members competed against each other in a trivia game about “Throwback Songs.” The loser would ultimately face a penalty decided on by the winners.

They began the game, being quizzed on songs from their childhood, including lots of Japanese and Korean animations. Especially ones from the 90s. They had to identify the theme song, shouting their name followed by the show’s title.

Things were off to a great start when the theme song for Digimon began playing. V and Jin immediately shouted their names, and Jin got it correct, proving himself to be the anime enthusiast we all know him to be.

Unfortunately for him, the members reminded him that it was just a warmup. So, it was argued that he couldn’t get a point for his correct guess.

The next one was just as easy as it was a show everyone is familiar with worldwide. It was none other than Pokémon!

Maknae Jungkook, being the Pikachu fanboy he is, without second-guessing, shouted the main character’s name right off the bat. Of course, that’s not the show’s name though the electric pokémon is mentioned by name multiple times in the opening theme.

So, of course, another member grabbed the opportunity to shout the show’s title correctly. Suga came and got it!

When the theme song continued to play, J-Hope had to jump up and dance along to it. It’s just too good!

It seemed like it was going to be an anime quiz after these first two shows. RM even began speculating what anime would be next…

| BTS/VLIVE

He was proved wrong as they started being given more Korean animations. But it returned back to anime when Slam Dunk‘s theme was played. Of course, this is a familiar tune.

It took him a while as he said the wrong title at first, but ultimately basketball-lover and fan of the anime, Suga finally correctly guessed it. It was a relief for him, but others were disappointed it took them so long to say it.

Now, when Cardcaptor Sakura‘s theme came on, it was clear who were big fans of this one. V shot his hand up, announcing the title although RM was close behind.

This was another one that most were familiar with. RM even sang some of the tune before V attempted to recreate the theme song.

| BTS/VLIVE

His recreation was nearly identical to that actual opening to the show!

| BTS/VLIVE

Did they think we wouldn’t notice them just replaying the same clip from Cardcaptor Sakura side by side?

| BTS/VLIVE

Last but not least, though he had guessed it earlier in the show, Dragon Leauge finally came up. Automatically, it seemed familiar…

Naturally, Suga got it right! Being a fan of sports and anime, he recognized the sporty tune to the song.

Though the boys have a diverse taste in the genre, without a doubt, we know Pokémon is their favorite of all. You just can’t go wrong with it!

Whether it’s J-Hope imitating Pikachu’s iconic voice…

Or showing off their Pokémon collectibles and merchandise…

They even show off their love at fanmeetings.

Pikachu is definitely a favorite among everyone.

They’re true fanboys!
