BTS‘s interview videos only show the tip of the iceberg. According to one interviewer, many things happen behind the scenes that fans don’t get to see.
Each interview is a collaboration between BTS, their staff, their interviewer, and many others whose teamwork makes the dream work behind the scenes. In a commentary video, E NOW‘s Sakshma Srivastav revealed new details about her video call with BTS.
For Sakshma, interviewing BTS was no simple task. It required a high level of multi-tasking, attention to detail, and quick thinking while also being personable and engaged. While talking to the members, she was also interacting with staff from various departments.
“If you see the interview,” she said. “I’m sitting and there’s an iPad next to me, which has the questions, but there’s also an extra phone next to me where the group chat is happening.”
Meticulous staff members messaged Sakshma throughout filming to make sure the interview went off without a hitch.
That chat has everybody, like the managers, the PRs, the people who are, you know, taking care of the technical stuff, the IT team, the producers, and everybody’s there, and they constantly give you instructions, and update you. You know, ‘Can you do this, and can you include that, and correct your posture, and, you know, move towards the light? Do this. Do that. This much time’s left.’
“There is constant — like, the chat is running like that, and you have to keep tab of that,” she went on, demonstrating how messages flooded her phone. “And you also have to pay attention to the members, and think about what you’re going to say next, and the question. It’s so much.”
“You can only see two sides, me and [BTS], but there are so many people who work on this, trust me,” Sakshma said. “I’m so grateful to all of them for making this possible for me because it’s truly my dream.”
