Today, The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered its third season. Episode 1 featured rapper Fat Joe and singer-actress Kristin Chenoweth as guests. Coldplay‘s Chris Martin appeared as a musical guest.

During his segment, Chris Martin talked about what it was like to work with BTS on Coldplay’s new song “My Universe.” This highly anticipated collaboration is the 10th track on Coldplay’s upcoming album, Music of the Spheres.

“It’s called ‘My Universe,’ and you did it with BTS, right?” host Kelly Clarkson asked Chris Martin during his interview. “I love that. I love that you’re working with BTS.”

A fan who had filmed the show, however, noticed that the picture of “BTS” was actually not BTS at all.

Instead, a photo of a different 7-member boy group, BLITZERS, appeared on screen. BLITZERS, formerly called WUZO CIRCLE, is a new K-Pop group. They debuted on May 12th, 2021 with their debut album, CHECK-IN.

Fans are now criticizing The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s “researchers” for failing to fact-check the image before airing the episode.

As some fans have pointed out, this is not the first time BLITZERS’ photos have appeared in BTS media coverage.

Some fans have pointed to an article by The National as a possible reason for why researchers keep mixing up BLITZERS with BTS. The article, titled “The next BTS?” features the same photo used on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Now, some ARMYs are reaching out to Kelly Clarkson and The Kelly Clarkson Show, pointing out the error. At this time The Kelly Clarkson Show has not responded to the criticism.
