Big Hit Labels Cancels “2021 New Year’s Eve Live” In-Person Concert

They had made changes to the event.

Big Hit Labels has canceled the offline portion of their 2021 New Year’s Eve Live concert, due to COVID-19 concerns in South Korea.

Recently, the K-Pop industry has seen a rise in COVID-19 cases. ChunghaEVERGLOW‘s Yiren and SihyeonUP10TION’s Bitto and Kogyeol, and trot singer Lee Changwon have all tested positive for the virus. Many idols have, or are currently, undergoing testing.

2021 New Year’s Eve Livean end of the year event featuring artists from Big Hit Labels’ subsidiary agencies, originally offered an offline concert with limited seating, subject to government regulations. The tickets have now been canceled.

In a Weverse announcement, Big Hit Labels stated that they have been “strictly adhering to COVID-19 control regulations” to keep their artists and fans safe. Even so, they have decided to err on the side of caution and cancel the offline component, due to rising cases and increased social distancing.

The online show will proceed as scheduled. It will be live-streamed exclusively through the Weverse app starting at 9:30 PM (KST) on December 31. Read the announcement below:
