Berry Good’s Johyun Apologizes For Putting Staff Members At Risk Of Coronavirus And Clarifies What Happened

She ended up testing negative.

Berry Good‘s Johyun was previously criticized for her attendance of a promotional event for the release of her new movie, Dragon Inn Part 1: The City of Sadness, where it was said that she participated in an interview attended by 3 to 4 reporters as well as multiple photographers.

Later on, it was confirmed that her agency CEO and a manager of the group was confirmed for covid19 and that the Berry Good members had gone for testing upon the news. Articles raised suspicions that Johyun attended the premiere despite knowing that her CEO and manager was confirmed, or that she attended the premiere while awaiting test results, thereby putting the staff present in danger.

Johyun has stepped up to confirm via a post on her Instagram, that she had gone for testing only after the event, and that she had not known prior.

While I was on my way back from the interviews, I got the news from my company to go test for the virus, and so I headed to the health station in Gangnam and got tested. I received negative results but I am currently self-quarantining for two weeks.

Johyun also conveys her well wishes and gratitude to medical workers around the country for their efforts.

Furthermore, there has been many who has sent me DMs to ask about my health after the articles. I am absolutely grateful but at the same time, my heart hurts as well. The reason I can be here receiving the love and support through messages is because of the medical workers that are putting in the efforts from places that cannot be seen.

There has not been an official statement by her agency.

Hello, this is Johyun.

First, I sincerely write in encouragement to everyone who is having a hard time due to coronavirus and hope that everyone gains strength. There has been some error in reports in the media, with regards to the issue of me attending the movie’s promotional interviews despite having been tested for the coronavirus.

While I was on my way back from the interviews, I got the news from my company to go test for the virus, and so I headed to the health station in Gangnam and got tested. I received negative results but I am currently self-quarantining for two weeks.

As everyone could be in danger due to the rising numbers for the virus, I will too, act responsibly for preventive measures, as a citizen of South Korea, so as not to become a burden to the medical staff that has worked tirelessly for ages.

Furthermore, there has been many who has sent me DMs to ask about my health after the articles. I am absolutely grateful but at the same time, my heart hurts as well. The reason I can be here receiving the love and support through messages is because of the medical workers that are putting in the efforts from places that cannot be seen.

I hope that everyone can direct these messages to the medical workers who are probably tired due to the rising numbers, so that they can find strength once again.

I hope that everyone in quarantine now can be healthy! I pray that South Korea can overcome the coronavirus a day quicker! Let’s get over this together, aja aja fighting!
