BigHit CEO Bang Si Hyuk Makes Billboard’s “International Power Players” List

He made the list for his second consecutive year.

BigHit Entertainment‘s founder and CEO Bang Si Hyuk has made Billboard‘s “International Power Players” list for the second year in a row!

This annually released list is made up of innovative leaders and game changers who are responsible for driving the music industry’s success, internationally. This year, the list–which includes 104 power players–was released on May 28. Bang Si Hyuk is featured in the “recording” category, alongside Stu Bergen (CEO of Warner Music Group) and John Reid (Live Nation Europe’s president of concerts).

Billboard describes Bang Si Hyuk as “the mastermind behind BTS” who “catapulted the seven-man K-pop band to No. 1 on both the Billboard Artist 100 and Billboard 200 charts”. His involvement in BTS’s sold-out Love Yourself: Speak Yourself stadium tour is also mentioned.

Bang Si Hyuk told Billboard that, for him, the most significant moment in the last year was the speech BTS’s RM gave at the United Nations.

BTS worked very hard to deliver their message, put together in their own words. It was a symbolic moment where the artists’ life itself was a performance, a message of hope to the youth all around the world.

If anyone deserves to make this list, it’s definitely the one and only Bang Si Hyuk!
