7 Dramas That Have Been Forced To Suspend Production Due To Positive Coronavirus Tests

Coronavirus is spreading throughout the Drama industry.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has now affected the Korean entertainment industry as a whole, with numerous programs being cancelled or delayed due to positive coronavirus tests that can also end up being linked to their actors or artists.

The cases in the Korean entertainment industry stemmed from the first actor, Seo Sung Jong, testing positive. Later, Heo Dong Won also tested positive, as did Kim Won Hae. Ultimately, 15 out of 39 cast members of the musical Jjambbong, tested positive. As actors and staff generally work on multiple productions at the same time, the chain of spread has reached numerous shows and dramas in a short timespan.

Here are all of the Dramas and TV shows that have been forced to suspend production due to positive coronavirus tests.

1. JTBC Private Lives

Private Lives, starring Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyun and Go Kyung Pyo, halted filming as some of the staff members working on the set also were at the filming site of a different drama that reported a positive coronavirus case. While the staff members on set were not direct contacts of the positive case, they are erring on the side of caution, and having the staff members tested.

2. KBS Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol

Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, starring Go Ara and Lee Jae Wook, had to halt filming after their actor, Heo Dong Won tested positive. In response, Go Ara decided to get tested while Lee Jae Wook has not yet been tested.

3. tvN Start-Up

Start-Up, starring Nam Joo Hyuk and Suzy, halted filming after actress Seo Yi Sook, who also recently starred in Hotel Del Luna and World Of The Married, was revealed to be a contact of Heo Dong Won. The two filmed together on Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol. Due to Seo Yi Sook being a contact, the production team has decided to take a break from filming to monitor the situation.

4. JTBC Run On

Run On, starring Im Si Wan, Shin Se Kyung, and Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung, halted filming after it was revealed some of the staff members working on the set also were at the filming site of a different drama that reported a positive coronavirus case. Due to the risk, the staff in question are being tested and self-isolating as they await their results.

5. KBS To All The Guys Who Loved Me

To All The Guys Who Loved Me is currently airing, and stars Hwang Jung Eum and Yoon Hyun Min. The drama was forced to halt filming even though it is nearing the end of its run due to their actor, Seo Sung Jong, testing positive.

6. JTBC Just Comedy

JTBC‘s comedy program Just Comedy was forced to halt filming after one of their cast members, Oh Man Seok, was forced to get tested after being pointed out as a contact of Heo Dong Won. Oh Man Seok was well known as tvN Taxi’s MC, as well as for his role in Crash Landing On You.

7. JTBC More Than Friends

More Than Friends, starring Ong Seong Wu, Shin Ye Eun, and Kim Dong Jun, had to halt filming after actress Kim Hee Jung was identified as a contact of Kim Won Hae. Due to her test, filming for the drama was postponed, but thankfully, she did not have any contacts with any of the other actors.
