A recent survey conducted by media portal E-Daily had 20 male Korean hip-hop artists vote for the female artists they felt were the best rappers in the country.
Male rappers who took part of the poll included Rhymer, Primary, Dynamic Duo‘s Choiza and Gaeko, Verbal Jint, Leessang‘s Gary and Gil, Epik High‘s Tablo, DJ Tukutz, and Mithra Jin, Mighty Mouth‘s Sangchu, Geeks’ Lil Boy and Louie, Baechigi‘s Moowoong, San E, Sleepy, J’kyun, and Big Tray.
Unsurprisingly, artist Yoon Mi Rae took over the poll in #1 and was named as the nation’s best female rapper by her male peers, taking 30% of the votes. She was spared no praise as the male voters proclaimed her as “Korea’s Queen of Hip-Hop,” stating that everyone should recognize her as the top female rapper of the country.
Jessi of Lucky J came in 2nd with 25% followed by the tied-votes of 2NE1‘s CL and Cheetah for third place with 10%. Finally, EXID‘s LE completes the Top 5 with 7.5%.
1. Yoon Mi Rae 12 votes (30%)
2. Jessi 10 votes(25%)
