The real reason behind Oh My Girl’s denied entry into America was their visa?

Rookie girl group Oh My Girl has been the trending topic today (December 11th) after news of them being denied entry into America after landing in Los Angeles was reported.

The eight member girl group was reportedly visiting Los Angeles, California along with their staff to for a photoshoot for an upcoming album, unfortunately, according to WM Entertainment, customs did not approve their baggage – props and costumes needed for the shoot – causing Oh My Girl to be withheld for over 10 hours. Eventually, the decision was made for the girl group to catch the earliest flight back to Korea in which they landed early the next day.

However, Yeonhap News reports that it was not due to the baggage that Oh My Girl was denied entrance but because of visa problems.

An airline official was quoted saying, ” From what I know there was a problem with their visa when they reached immigration. The fact that they didn’t acquire a performance visa became a problem.”

With the recent Paris terrorist attacks as well as the deadly shooting incident that occurred in San Bernardino in America over the past few weeks, Immigration and Customs screening at airports across the country has tightened their securities.

[+16, -3] 미United States is really strict about letting unmarried females through their borders. Especially young Korean women are very prominent in the illegal alien population. I think the company underestimated the security of US borders….

With a Korean passport you can go to the states without a visa for 3 months..they’re only strict about single women if they have long term visas.

↳ That’s not true it really depends on the person you see at immigration after an increase of people who overstay the duration of visa they don’t always let you through..

↳ That only applies for tourists, if you’re going to work you need a visa.

[+12, -2] Why else would you think they returned despite the fact that they paid so much for plane tickets? Many Korean groups have performed in LA without problems even though they had more props this is definitely because of Visa problems.
