Getting rejected from a K-Pop company is not always a bad thing, as some people learn a lot from these kinds of experiences. Also, trainees may find a company that better matches them. Here are 9 K-Pop idols who were rejected from JYP Entertainment.
1. J-Hope (BTS)
J-Hope initially auditioned for JYP Entertainment but didn’t make it as a trainee.
It ended up working out, as J-Hope was eventually accepted by Big Hit Entertainment, and became a member of BTS.
IU is someone who went through multiple auditions trying to get accepted by any company, one of them being JYP Entertainment.
Despite getting rejected, IU was eventually found by LOEN Entertainment, where she has developed into one of K-Pop’s top solo artists.
One of the companies that Hyolyn tried to get accepted to was JYP Entertainment.
She ended up getting rejected, but eventually found her way to Starship Entertainment, and became the leader of Sistar.
4. Hani (EXID)
Hani got some attention from JYP Entertainment due to her skills but ultimately didn’t get accepted as a trainee.
She eventually got accepted as a trainee for Banana Culture Entertainment, which is where she made her debut as an EXID member.
5. Sungjae (BTOB)
Sungjae has asked Park Jin Young why he was rejected as a trainee, but Park Jin Young gave a very lighthearted answer.
Sungjae eventually found his way to Cube Entertainment, which is where he debuted as a member of BTOB.
6. Yuju (GFRIEND)
Yuju originally auditioned in K-Pop Star 1 but was hit by a lot of comments by Park Jin Young.

Yuju eventually got accepted by Source Music, which is where she debuted as a member of GFRIEND.
DEAN might not count as he’s not a K-Pop idol, but he too was rejected by JYP Entertainment.
It ended up working out, as DEAN is now considered one of the top solo artists in the industry.
8. Xiumin (EXO)
Xiumin is another popular idol that got rejected by JYP Entertainment.
It ended up working out, as Xiumin eventually got accepted by SM Entertainment, which is where he debuted as a member of EXO.
CL wasn’t really rejected by JYP Entertainment, where she even trained with some of the 2AM members.
CL eventually decided to audition for YG Entertainment. She ended up making it, and she later debuted as a member of 2NE1.
