SM Entertainment smashes sales records during first half of 2015

SM Entertainment is reported to have recorded their highest sales ever during the first half of 2015.

In the first half of 2015, SM Entertainment surpassed their own previous record in sales. According to sources, SM has raised their sales by 9.7% from the previous year, making it their best first half-year ever.

During the first half of 2015, SM Entertainment grossed over 141,600,000,000 won which is about 119 million dollars USD.

One of the reasons for SM Entertainment’s growth belongs to artists promoting in China. SM Entertainment revealed on August 11th that, “the promotion of groups TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO and Red Velvet in China allowed a growth of over 114% from the previous year.”

Even for the second half of the year, the growth is easily noticeable compared to the same time table from the previous year. With SM Entertainment being the largest profitable agency in Korea, their future direction is highly anticipated by many.

[ +3172 / -112] Because China’s market is so important in the entertainment industry, that is why SM Entertainment can’t let go Chinese members who betrayed them. I know they have inner problems but I think they need to careful and look at things in the long term. Groups need to be strong in order for them to last long, gain a stronger fandom and also to be successful in China. Please don’t just look at short term and deciding on the market in front of you but think of the team’s future please…
