Gong Hyo Jin is to comeback to the big screen with “Mama”

After a three year hiatus from the big screen, actress Gong Hyo Jin is to finally make her long awaited comeback in an upcoming film.

According to an affiliated source as of March 19th (KST), Gong Hyo Jin has confirmed to star in an upcoming film Mama. This will be her comeback in the film industry after starring in Boomerang Family, which was released in 2013.

The thriller follows a story of a mother having her child kidnapped by the bab sitter/house keeper. In the film, Gong Hyo Jin will take over the role of the babysitter/house keeper. Along with the actress, Um Ji Won will take over the role of the mother who loses her child by the kidnapper.

Mama is already a highly anticipated film as most thriller genres are taken by actors in Korea. The movie will begin filming later this year.

Meanwhile, Gong Hyo Jin is to star in an upcoming KBS drama Producer alongside Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Tae Hyun, and IU.
